Bross & Frankel is dedicated to helping people with disabilities obtain benefits. Our Media office serves clients in Eastern Pennsylvania as they navigate the challenging bureaucracies of the federal government and/or insurance companies. We work collaboratively with our clients to help them get the disability discrimination compensation that they are entitled to so that they can focus on their recovery
Through our location in Media, PA, we represent clients seeking help with denials of long-term disability benefits and who need our assistance filing appeals with Social Security. We work with injured Pennsylvanians to help them obtain workers’ compensation benefits. Our Media disability benefits attorneys also stand by service members to help them get the benefits that they have earned.
Beyond disability benefits, we work with workers who have faced discrimination or injustice while on the job. Our experienced team of employment lawyers fiercely advocate for our clients, and when possible, fight to get them back to work.
How We Can Help You
Individuals with disabilities may be eligible for certain benefits from the government. This includes Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) or Social Security Insurance (SSI). Filing a claim for either type of benefit can be a challenging and time-consuming process, requiring you to gather substantial documentation and adhere to strict regulations for filling out paperwork. If your claim is denied, you can then file an appeal of the denial. Our firm has substantial experience helping people with disabilities across Pennsylvania be granted SSDI and SSI benefits.
Men and women who have served our country may be entitled to certain benefits, including compensation for service-connected and non-service connected disabilities, a pension from the Veterans Administration (VA), and compensation for survivors. While attorneys cannot represent veterans when they are filing their initial disability claim, our firm is happy to offer free consultations to any veteran who would like to learn more about any potential benefits that they may qualify for under the law. If you choose to appeal a VA decision, we can help you put together a strong case for benefits.
Long-term disability (LTD) insurance offers monthly payments of between 50 to 60% of your income in the event that you cannot work for an extended period of time due to a long term disability. While these policies have the potential to incredibly valuable, many individuals have a hard time taking advantage of their LTD plans because their insurers unfairly deny or delay their claims. Many of these policies, particularly those purchased through a group plan, are covered by a federal law known as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). If an insurance company wrongfully denies your claim or improperly terminates your benefits, you may be able to file a lawsuit against it in federal court under ERISA.
Most employees are entitled to benefits for work-related injuries and illnesses under the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act. You may be eligible for workers’ compensation for a wide range of injuries and illnesses, including those related to occupational exposures and repetitive stress injuries. Under this no-fault system, workers may qualify for coverage for medical treatment, lost wages, and disability benefits based on the severity of their injury and whether they will be able to return to work.
Although Pennsylvania is an “at-will” work state, where an employer can fire you for almost any reason, you cannot be fired for an illegal reason, such as your age, gender, race, disability status, national origin, or religion. Both federal and state law protect employees from wrongful termination and discrimination. We represent clients on a range of employment-related claims, including those related to family and medical leave, disability discrimination, unemployment compensation, harassment, and retaliation.
